From the North
- Take IL-26 or West Avenue south to South Street. (the first stop light, 1 block south of Cub Foods)
- Turn left (east) onto South Street
- Take South Street East 1.5 miles (through several stop lights; cemetery on the left; GM auto dealership on the right) and turn right (south) onto Baileyville Road.
- Take Baileyville Road south approximately 2.7 miles; straight thru the 4-way stop sign at Lamm Road to Cranes Grove Road. Turn right (west) onto Cranes Grove Road.
- Take Crane’s Grove Road west 50 feet. Oakdale Nature Preserve entrance is on the left.

From the East
- From US-20 take the Freeport/Business 20 Exit (Titan Tire plant is south of the highway).
- Take US-20 Business west approximately 3.5 miles into Freeport.
- At the first stoplight, just west of the Freeport Plaza Hotel, stay in the left lane. (the road divides…Business 20 (Galena Avenue) to the right…South street straight ahead) From the left lane, go straight. (This turns into South Street.)
- Take South Street 0.1 mile to the first intersection, Baileyville Road. Turn left (south) onto Baileyville Road.
- Take Baileyville Road south approximately 2.7 miles; straight thru the 4 way stop sign at Lamm Road to Crane’s Grove Road. Turn right (west) onto Cranes Grove Road.
- Take Crane’s Grove Road west 50 feet. Oakdale Nature Preserve entrance is on the left.

From the South
- Take IL-26 north toward Freeport to Lamm Road. (the first intersection just north of Seaga Manufacturing)
- Turn right (east) onto Lamm Road.
- Take Lamm Road east approximately 1.5 miles to the first stop sign. Turn right (south) onto Baileyville Road.
- Take Baileyville Road south approximately 1.5 miles to Cranes Grove Road. Turn right (west) onto Cranes Grove Road.
- Take Crane’s Grove Road west 50 feet. Oakdale Nature Preserve entrance is on the left.
(Alternatively if you know the area, you can take Baileyville Rd. North off of IL 26 just north of Forreston, drive approximately 7 miles then turn left onto Cranes Grove Road.)

- Turn onto IL-26 (West Avenue).
- Follow the From the North or From the South directions as the case may be.
